A memorial service for Bobette 'Bobbye Goodman, 91, will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at B'nai Zion Congregation, 245 Southfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rabbi Dr. Jana L. DeBenedetti. Bobbye was born on February 25, 1931 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Ike and Lillie Braunig and passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana peacefully in her home with her family and loved ones by her side. Bobbye was a member of the B'nai Zion Congregation. She loved people and people loved her. She was always smiling and happy to see you. As a member of the Shreveport Bridge Association, and a Sapphire Life Master, you could find her most afternoons at the bridge table. Afterwards, she was off to happy hour. One of her favorite sayings was 'It's always 5:00 somewhere!. Bobbye enjoyed doing puzzles, Mah Jongg, watching movies, listening to music, and dancing. She was extremely proud of her red sports car, selected when she was only 88. She was an accomplished calligrapher, successful in the stock market and a devoted volunteer with many community organizations. She was a world traveler and enjoyed taking trips with her friends and family all over the world and especially loved cruises. Bobbye is preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Bernhardt; fathers, Ike Braunig and Dr. Julian Bernhardt; husband, Herman Goodman, Jr. and sister, Ann Simon. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Gross and husband, Bill Evans and Julie Miller and husband, Mike; granddaughters, Erica Gross and partner, Charlie McInnis and Jamie Gross and husband, Michael Boyles; grandson, Michael Herman Miller; new great-granddaughter, Chase Royal and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to B'nai Zion Congregation, 245 Southfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71105 or to the charity of the donor's choice. 'Everything works out for the best sooner or later.
