Bobby Glen Simpson, 87, of Homer, LA, passed away December 8, 2021 at home with family after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents C.B. "Red" and Etoile Allen Simpson, a great granddaughter Addison Black and a son-in-law Jerry Clark. Bobby's family moved to Lisbon, LA when he was 12 years old. Later moving to Homer where he attended and graduated from Homer High School. Bobby furthered his education at LA Tech University where he received a Bachelor\'s degree in Safety Engineering. The oilfield was his chosen profession. Bobby along with his father and brother owned and operated Hinton Well Service for many years. When they sold the company, he continued to work as an independent consultant for multiple companies including Mitchell Energy. Bobby later went to work for the State of LA as the conservation agent for Claiborne and Lincoln parishes where he worked until retiring. He was a lifelong member of the Homer Church of Christ. In his younger years he enjoyed riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed fishing every chance he could. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Bonnie Phillips Simpson. Two daughters Dena Clark, Vicki Bailey and husband Ken. Grand children Lauren Carroway and husband Justin, Colin Bailey and wife Bethany. Great grandchildren Marley Black, McCrae Carroway and William Bailey. A brother Eddie Simpson and wife Shirley. Three nephews Bruce Simpson and wife Cherie, Brett Simpson and wife Jennifer, Brad Simpson and wife Stefanie. Two pets that he loved dearly Molly and Mia. Pallbearers will be Colin Bailey, Ken Bailey, Justin Carroway, Bruce, Brett and Brad Simpson. A special thanks to Dr. Mark Haynes and Dr. Scott Haynes. Also, to four very special caregivers Tommy Mitchell, Herman Webb, Sue Buggs and Gloria Johnson. Funeral services will be held for Bobby at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Ray Anderson, officiating. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in Athens, LA, following the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers honoring Bobby, the family suggest memorials be made to Homer Church of Christ or donor's choice.
