Funeral services will be held for Bobby Scriber, age 72, at First Baptist Church of Bernice, 502 Cherry Street, Bernice, LA, on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Jeff Roberts, officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery in Dubach, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Bobby was born August 29, 1949, in Homer, LA, to Walter Ambrose and Mary Blanche Greer Scriber. He went into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 11, 2022, with his family at his bedside after a short battle with cancer. Bobby was an active member and deacon at Sharon Baptist Church. He served as chairman of the deacon body until he had to relinquish the position due to his health. Bobby also served as Sunday School teacher and sound technician for several years. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1970. Bobby would spend as much time outdoors as possible working in the garden, hunting, or tending his quail at the farm in earlier years. He began raising quail after high school as part of a Handicap Services disability program. Bobby became known for his large jumbo Wisconsin quail which he produced and sold in the area. He adored his children and grandchildren spending much time with them making special memories as often as he could. It was always important to Bobby to pass on the love, values, and close family ties. Bobby interacted with his nieces and nephews that had gathered for fun at the Scriber camp house and he loved them dearly. He cherished his country and its history. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Billy Brantly; mother-in-law, Estelle Brantly; and infant daughter, Amanda Marie Scriber; two sisters-in-law, Janice Scriber and Billie Ruth Brantly Elledge; and brother-in-law, Rodney Hollenshead. He is survived by his loving wife of over 43 years, Debbie Brantly Scriber of Homer, LA; a son, Jeremy Ambrose Scriber and wife Lexie of Minden, LA; a daughter, Lindsey Elise Bagwell and husband Jason of Cabot, AR; two sisters, Mary Shankles and husband Don of Ruston, LA, and Ann Lary and husband Edward of Dubach, LA; six brothers, George "Billy" Scriber and wife Lou Ann of Ruston, LA, Don Scriber and wife Suzanne of Shreveport, LA, W.A. Scriber and wife Kathy of Lisbon, LA, Dr. Charles Scriber and wife Kathye of Ruston, LA, Glenn Scriber and wife Rachel of Ruston, LA, and Larry Scriber and wife Pamela of Homer, LA; three grandchildren, Luke Aaron Scriber, Andrew Paul Scriber, and Madilynn Elise Bagwell; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Dillon and Martha Musgrove; two brothers-in-law, John Brantly and Perry Brantly; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Todd Lary, Tim Lary, Mike Scriber, Walter Scriber, Keith Scriber, Jesse Scriber, Eric Scriber, Adrian Scriber, Brady Scriber, and David Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Sharon Baptist Church and Jeff Scriber.
