Funeral services for Bobbie Jewel Lemons will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the City On A Hill United Pentecostal Church at 12:00 noon with Bro. Keith Adcock officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Springhill under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Lemons was a native of Cullen and Minden for 73 years. She was born November 13, 1948, to Mary Susan Sims Woods and Sidney Jewel Woods and ascended to her heavenly home June 19, 2022, at Minden Medical Center. She was a faithful member of United Pentecostal Church of Minden and lived and breathed her faith to everyone whose path she crossed. She was a devoted Christian, wonderful homemaker, Sunday School teacher and cafeteria manager. She will be missed by the many who love her dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Rushing; daughter-in-law, Leigh Wilmot; grandchildren, Justin Rushing and Chrissy Lemons; sisters, Glenda Burt, Vickie Hensley and husband Donald, and Karen Langley and husband David; and special cousins, Judy Tillman, Betty Sue Keating, and Jimmy Woods. She also leaves behind her devoted dog, Max.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Bill Lemons; son, Barry Lemons; grandson, Joseph Lemons; and sister Sharon Bouraique.
Pallbearers will be Justin Rushing, Monty Burt, Josh Bouraique, David Bouraique, Nathaniel Kennedy and Joseph Smith.
Memorials may be made in memory of Bobbie to Tupelo Children’s Mansion, 1801 E. Main Street, Tupelo, Mississippi 38801.
