HOMER, LA: Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Bobbie Joyce Hightower Bright, 92, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Homer, LA, on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Robert McGaha, officiating. Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 A.M., prior to the service.
Mrs. Bright was born May 6, 1926, in Summerfield, LA, to Drew F. and Myrtis Strahan Hightower. She entered into rest on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, in Homer, LA. Mrs. Bright was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Homer where she volunteered for VBS every year and served as a greeter. She was an avid gardener who loved flowers and her yard showed it with all the color and blooms. At Presbyterian Village where her mother lived out her last days, Mrs. Bright would visit her every day and volunteer to serve meals. She built relationships and after her mother's passing Mrs. Bright continued to help serve meals to the other residents throughout the years. She was a giving person who always wanted to meet the needs of those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Shelton Hightower.
She is survived by her sister, Francis Ledbetter and husband Larry of Shreveport, LA; along with numerous nieces and friends.
