Billy Gene Woodel

A visitation for Billy Gene Woodel, 81, will be held for friends and family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home 943 Polk St. Mansfield, Louisiana, followed by funeral service at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Barry Rhoades officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Jessup, Louisiana at Ft. Jessup Cemetery.

Billy was born on May 2, 1944, in Many, Louisiana to George Robert Woodel and Ella Mae Nelms and passed away June 10, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Billy was preceded in death by parents, George and Ella Woodel; sister, Mary Louise Tyler; infant brother, Edward and brother, Eugene Woodel.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Darline Woodel; son, Reese Woodel (Julie); daughter, Denise Hamil (Paul); sister, Mildred Leach; grandchildren, Megan Whitaker (Gabriel), Andrew Hamil, Justin Woodel, Jared Woodel, Eric Springer (Jenna), and Jill Greenwood (Dylan); great grandchildren, Briella Whitaker, Lexi Greenwood, and Matthew Greenwood along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Honoring Billy as pallbearers will be Justin Woodel, Jared Woodel, Paul Hamil, Andrew Hamil and Mike Womack.

Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Dennis Leach.
