Billie Madge Shadowens Bradley, age 89, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on September 20, 2024. She was born on September 13, 1935, in Bethany, Louisiana to Hugh and Tommie Shadowens.
A graveside service honoring the life of Billie will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, located at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport on Tuesday before the 1:30 p.m. graveside. Officiating the service will be Rev. McKee Williams.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rodrique Bradley I, Rodrique Bradley II, Cameron Dreher, and Beau Bradley.
Billie graduated from Greenwood High School in 1953. She enjoyed riding her horse, Jim, back in her younger days. She was married 61 years to the love of her life, Charles Edwin Bradley Sr. Billie enjoyed completing word searches and jigsaw puzzles, and when the children would glue the pieces together, she would frame them. Billie loved her flowers, hummingbirds, and especially cats and was known as the “cat lady”.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bradley Sr., and granddaughters, Tiffany Bradley and Kimberly Bradley. She is survived by her son, Charles Bradley II and wife Janet; daughter, Pamela Bradley; granddaughter, Samantha Bradley; grandson, Rodrique Bradley I; great-grandchildren, Cameron Dreher, Beau Bradley, Malayzhea Persley, Rodrique Bradley II, and Zyon Bradley; and also, Heather Abney.
The family asks that you please consider making donations to the Humane Society of Shreveport. The family would like to express their gratitude to SFD #15 for all the times they came to pick her up off the floor and taking her to the hospital when she was so sick. Thank you to Dr. Prakash V. Manapragada and the RN’s: Jackie, Christina, Haylee, Christy, and her tech Latrice for all their help keeping her comfortable. We really appreciate what you did for our mom. Also a special thank you to Divine Health Care for their daily care and patience.
