Billie was born on June 20, 1934, in Bienville, Louisiana, to John and Billie Kirkham Poland. She entered into rest on July 20, 2026, in Arcadia, Louisiana.

Billie worked for the State of Louisiana in the Welfare Department. She loved to travel, especially to see family. Billie was a talented musician, playing the piano, and a singer. Billie led a full and good life.

Billie is preceded by her parents John and Billie Poland, husband Wade H. Murphy, Sr., daughter Lisa Rachelle Murphy, son-in-law Jim Smart, grandson James Matthew Smart, and great-great grandchildren Cammeron and TJ.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Anita Murphy Smart, Sharon Murphy Frye and husband Tommy, Wade H. Murphy, Jr. and wife Doris, and Teresa Murphy Mills and husband Jimbo, grandchildren Christy, Mona, Casey, Kelley, Daniel, Lance, Jennifer, Donnie, Kassie, and Kaleb, by 12 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
