Billie Jean King Landry

Billie Jean King Landry was born prematurely on October 2, 1931, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and peacefully exited this world on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

She was preceded in death by many friends and family, including her parents, Myrtle and R. H. King, Sr.; brothers, Calvin and R.H. King, Jr.; sister, Ruth Hastings, and her beloved husband of 50 years, Numa J. “Frenchy” Landry, Sr.

Billie is survived by her daughter, Ruth Anaise Alt (Joel); son, Numa J. Laundry, Jr. (Karen); sister-in-law, Margaret King, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and a herd of grand-cats.

A member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for many years, Billie cherished her faith until the end. Her family thanks the staff of Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center for their care in her final days, as well as friends, Maureen and Sarah, whose kindness will never be forgotten.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 315 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana 71101.
