Billie Faye Gaines Harrison (Baby Girl)

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Billie Faye Gaines Harrison (Baby Girl), 83, will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Lee A. Jeter, Sr. Billie will be laid to rest at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana, at a later date.

Billie was born to Rev. George C. and Bessie Gaines of Glenmora, Louisiana, on December 21, 1942. She was the third child of three siblings (all girls), and her nickname was Baby Girl. She attended Glenmora Elementary/High School, and was a proud graduate of Grambling State University, majoring in Home Economics.

Her career spanned over 30 years in Houston, Texas at Herman Hospital. She was employed as Head Seamstress for many years. She helped to create, with three friends, one of the first portable oxygen tank carriers that fitted over the shoulder; and later moved to Herman’s Hospital Post Office, to the position of Postal Clerk until her retirement.

Billie married Mr. Jerry H. Harrison of Houston, Texas on October 30, 1971. She was a member of the First Union Baptist Church of Glenmora, Louisiana, under Rev. C.L. Smith and later Rev. Gregory Craig. She also attended the True Vine Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Steven Morgan of Houston, Texas.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. George C. and Bessie Gaines; her husband, Jerry H. Harrison; sister, Thetta Athanas; and brother-in-law, Allen K. Jett.

She is survived by her loving sister, Garbo Jean Jett of Bossier City, LA; nephew, Allen P. Jett, and wife, Ellise of Bossier City, LA; niece, Marion Cage of Houston, TX; and Goddaughter, Vanessa Boults of Glenmora, LA.
