Born on December 25, 1924 in Plainview, Texas, Maxine was the daughter of Ollin Logan and
Jane Byars.
Following high school, Maxine began working at the Granada Theatre ticket booth. It was there
that she caught the eye of our daddy, Delmah, who was a flight instructor at the nearby air
base and they married in August of 1943.
After the war, Delmah and Maxine moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. In the late 1960's Maxine
and Delmah moved to Louisiana and eventually settled in Minden, Louisiana. It was there that
she and Delmah began working with her brother, Herb Byars, at Webster Printing. They lived
their lives in Minden for a number of years. Maxine was a member of First United Methodist
Church of Minden where she enjoyed being a part of the Builder's Sunday School class.
She joins in heaven her husband, Delmah D. Cook; her parents, Ollin and Jane Byars; her
sister, Kay Ragland; her twin brothers, Herb and Howard Byars; and her grandson, Stewart
Berry.
Maxine will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karen Boston (Brian) and Georgia Hethcox
