HOMER, LA: Billie Mac Brown Allgood was born October 12, 1923 in Buna, TX. She passed away February 17, 2019 in Cabot, AR at the age of 95. She was born to Elder Andrew Eugene Brown and Carrie McDow Brown. She lived most of her life in Claiborne Parish and was a member of Mt. Paron Baptist Church near Homer, LA. She spent most of her time being a homemaker and mother. Billie graduated as Salutatorian at Harris High School. After high school she worked at Morgan and Lindsey on the square in Homer. She corresponded with Benard Allgood, through his cousin with whom she shared an apartment. Then met him for the first time on the square in Homer. They postponed their marriage until after WWII and were wed on February 15, 1946. Billie always enjoyed gospel, country and bluegrass music; sitting on her swing watching the birds and squirrels; gardening in her flower beds especially her morning glories; and her grandchildren visits. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at noon with the service following at 1pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA. Graveside service will be at the Summerfield Cemetery in Summerfield, LA. The family would like to request everyone to wear purple, her favorite color. Billie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benard Allgood; sisters, Ruth Pixley and Naomi Sanders; brothers, Kenneth Brown, Andrew E. Brown Jr., Claude Brown, and 3 brothers who died at birth. Billie is survived by her daughters, Benita Ellerbe and husband, Roger of Summerfield, LA and Myra DiMasi and husband Salvatore of Huntley, IL; sons, Luther (Benny) Allgood and wife, Cindy of Junction City, AR; John Allgood and wife, Tonya of Cabot, AR; grandchildren, Melissa Brantly and husband, Ken; Roger Mac Ellerbe and wife Julia; Molly Keating and husband Kris; Joe DiMasi; Benjamin Allgood and wife, Denise; Thomas Allgood and wife, Serena; Aime Johnson and husband, Chase; Ashley Flickinger and husband, Rusty; Tyler Kirk; Chase Kirk; Jarrett Allgood; Jack Allgood; 14 great-grandchildren. Honoring Billie as pallbearers will be Roger Mac Ellerbe, Ken Brantly, Benjamin Allgood, Thomas Allgood, Chase Johnson and David Strahan.
