A "Celebration of Life" Service for Beverly Ann Sherman Smith (Memaw), 83, will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Randy Smith.

Beverly Sherman Smith, was born November 4, 1942, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to Allen and Marie Sherman. She lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and faith. She shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jerry Smith, building not only a home together but also a business partnership grounded in trust and hard work.

A graduate of Ayers Business College, Beverly began her career with AT&T before later joining her husband in their family business. Her work ethic was matched only by her creativity. She loved crafting and decorating, and she could turn even the simplest materials into something beautiful. Playing cards brought her joy, and bargain hunting at the Dollar Stores and Ollie’s was one of her favorite pastimes. She also looked forward to going to the beauty shop every Friday. They had the best time!!

Beverly’s heart for ministry was one of her defining gifts. She faithfully served homebound individuals and shut-ins, offering companionship, comfort, and prayer. Her card ministry touched countless lives—each note a reminder that someone cared deeply.

Above all, Beverly loved Jesus and her family. Her faith shaped her days, her decisions, and the way she loved others. Her legacy is one of compassion, service, and steadfast devotion. Beverly was always a giver and she donated her body to sciences in hopes of helping someone else.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Marie Sherman; her son, Kenneth Odom; her grandson, Caleb Smith; and her brothers, Barry Sherman, Stanley Sherman, Wayne Sherman, David Sherman, and Robert Flood. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jerry Smith; her children, Lori Ashcraft (Harold), Butch Smith, Bill Smith, Mike Odom (Janice), Laura Wallace (Richard), Randy Smith (Joy), and Darlene Burrow (Earnie); sister, Sandra Reynolds (Bob); 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren

The family would like to express special thanks to Compassus Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness.
