Betty J. Walters

Betty Jean Walters, age 91, was born April 3, 1931, in Atascosa County, Texas. She passed away on November 11, 2022, in Arcadia, Louisiana. Betty was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never met a stranger. Betty loved to talk and enjoyed making new friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. 

She was well known at her children’s’ schools because they volunteered her for any and everything. She was a room mother, baked cookies, sewed anything that was needed, chaperoned field trips and was always available to take numerous friends of her children home after school.

Betty is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 52 years, Roy Walters, Jr; her mother and father, Jean and Frank Bonugli; her grandson, Trey Robinson; and sister-in-law, Peggy June Shepard.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mike Walters; daughter, Debbie Robinson and husband Jackie; granddaughter, Misty Bording and husband Steven; great-grandson, Buzz Bording; great-granddaughter, Kate Bording; brother-in-law, Sam Shepard; along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 2-4 p.m., at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1680 1^st Street, Arcadia, LA. A graveside service will be held for Betty on Tuesday, November 15, 2022,at Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, LA at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Hoffman, officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Willow Ridge Nursing Home in Arcadia, LA, for the love and care that was shown to Betty over the past three years. Also, to the staff of Allegiance Hospice in Ruston, LA.
