Graveside services celebrating the life of Betty Jean Beckham Swarers, age 85 will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, Vivian, LA with Mac Hobbs officiating. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, November 17th at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Swarers was born in Ida, LA on March 5, 1935 to Rufus James Beckham and Lola Mae French Beckham and passed away at her residence in Vivian, LA on November 15, 2020. She was a longtime member of the Pine Street Church of Christ in Vivian. Mrs. Swarers loved to sew, work in her flower and vegetable gardens and loved her dogs and cats. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leroy Swarers, twin brother, Benny Beckham, sister, Martha Ann Beckham and granddaughter, Carmen. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Sherri Ray and husband, John and Kathy Wade and husband, Pete; siblings, Barbara Sue Stanley and husband, Charles, Patsy Williams and husband, Ed, Jamie Beckham and wife, Kathy and Larry Beckham and wife, Patricia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shannon Hobbs, Tonia Boggs, Crystal Fabre, Shawn Ray and Jason Ray and 10 great grandchildren. Honoring Mrs. Swarers as pallbearers will be her nephews.
