At the age of 91, our beloved mother, Betty Rogers Walker, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy that will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral services for Betty will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery in Shreveport. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the start of the service. Pastor Chris Willcutt and Pastor Edward Walker will officiate the service.
She was the heart of our family—a strong, devoted Christian woman whose faith guided her throughout her life. She loved the Lord deeply and demonstrated that love through her kindness, generosity and willingness to help others. She was a loyal and active member of Christ United Methodist Church for over 45 years prior to joining Grawood Baptist Church.
After her children were school age, she began her work career. She held numerous medical positions in the fields of ophthalmology and later in orthodontics.
For almost 65 years, Mom shared her life with our sweet father, Charles Simpson Walker. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, devotion, and the enduring strength of their bond.
She also had a special love for flowers. She found great joy in their beauty and took pride in watching them grow. Much like the gardens she lovingly tended, she nurtured her family with patience, care, and devotion. The beauty she cultivated in her garden was a reflection of the love she shared so freely with those around her.
Although our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find peace in knowing that her earthly journey is complete and that she now rests in the presence of her Savior. We find additional comfort in the thought that, after nearly eight years apart, Mom and Dad are together again. We can almost picture her walking through a beautiful heavenly garden, surrounded by flowers more magnificent than any she knew on earth, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
We will miss her more than words can express, but we will honor her by loving one another, helping those in need, standing firm in our faith, and keeping our family close—just as she taught us.
Until we meet again, Mom, we will carry your love in our hearts, your faith in our lives, and your memory like a beautiful flower that never fades. Your work here is done, your earthly garden is complete, and now you are home with the Lord you loved so dearly.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, William Howard and Donnie L. Rogers, stepmother, Martelle Rogers; brothers, James Allen Rogers and William Terry Rogers; grandchildren, Matthew Douglas Frazier, Matthew Brian Brockus, and Sara Beth Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Billy Walker (Tracey), Becky Ulcak (Alan), Sarah Walker, Eddie Walker (Kim); sisters, Peggy Lewellen (Charles) and Carol Huey; grandchildren, Brian Walker (Misty), Jason Walker (Laken), Emily Brockus (Brian), Amanda Smith (Jim), Tyler Smith, Ashley Williams (Matt), Chris Ulcak, Katie Komito (Ben), Calen Walker (Kelsey), Carleigh Walker; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be Alan Ulcak, Brian Brockus, Brian Walker, Jason Walker, Chris Ulcak, and Matt Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grawood Baptist Church, Keithville, Louisiana.
