A Graveside Service honoring the life of Betty Lou Lewis Rivet, 94, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. Larry Williams of Broadmoor Baptist Church. A visitation will take place prior to the service starting at 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 4110 Youree Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana.
Betty was born July 10, 1927 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Dave Talton Lewis and Thelma Jarman Lewis and passed away peacefully Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Monroe, Louisiana.
Betty was a devoted wife and loving mother who enjoyed taking care of her family. She liked the outdoors and going camping in their camper. She was always by her husband's side and even enjoyed a trip to Paris, France together.
She will always be loved and missed by those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 72 years, Robert "Bob" Rivet; son-in-law, Chuck Collingwood; and granddaughter, Dorothy Collingwood.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Doug Rivet and wife, Connie of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Debbe Collingwood of Las Vegas, NV and Jan Nelson and husband, Leo of Monroe, LA; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.
