Betty Josephine Penix

Funeral services for Betty Josephine Penix will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Hurricane Cemetery in Arcadia. Brother Spencer Lovitt and Brother Taff Watts will officiate.

Jo was born January 8, 1937, in Union County, Arkansas and passed away June 21, 2022, in Minden, Louisiana, at the age of 85. She was the head nurse at the Bienville Parish Health Unit for 27 years. Jo loved her job and helped many people throughout her career. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she loved them with all her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordan and Lillie McKinnon; husband, Hardy Penix; grandchildren, Gunnar Penix and Kylin Ann Penix; siblings, Maurice, Johnny, Christine, Francis and Geraldine.

Jo is survived by her sons, Michael Penix and wife Leslie and Gregory Penix and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Brandon Penix and wife Cambry, Chayce Penix and fiancé Amanda, Jacob Lonon and Ragan Penix; great grandchildren, Brayden Penix and Aubryauna Lily Penix; sisters, Mary Brown, Susie Ellison and Edna McCollough, along with many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Honoring Jo as pallbearers are Jimmy Woods, Steve Woods, Ricky Woods, Brandon Penix, Chayce Penix and Jacob Lonon.

Honorary pallbearers are Brayden Penix, Aubryauna Penix  and Ragan Penix.
