Betty J. Kobs was born October 4, 1936 in Doddridge, Arkansas to John and Zipporah Boles and passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. A Celebration of Life honoring Betty J. Kobs will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the home of James and Betty Kobs. Betty owned a beauty shop for over 35 years before she retired. After retirement, she traveled around to many Eastern Star conventions and sold lady's formal wear for 10 years. A professional seamstress who was also excellent at knitting, she enjoyed creating special blankets and other pieces for family and friends. She was also an active member of her local Order of the Eastern Star and served in many capacities over the years including as a Deputy Grand Matron. Betty enjoyed traveling the country with her beloved husband, James. They went everywhere together, even to see the polar bears. They especially loved going to casinos all over the country during their travels. They also belonged to many different motorhome clubs over the years with the latest being her club called the Cruisin' Cajuns. She loved eating crawfish with her Jimmy and eating chocolate turtles and Blue Bell ice cream. Good times. She was an avid gardener who loved her many beautiful flowers and plants. A lover of hummingbirds, they will forever remind loved ones of her presence. She will always be remembered and loved. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cherie Sanders; sisters, Lorene Adcock and Morene Davis; brother, Billy John Boles; and grandson, Joseph Pacheco. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of over 40 years, James Kobs; granddaughter, Cassie Goens; great-granddaughter, Avery and her father, James Stanley; children, Robert Kobs, William Kobs and Lori Kobs Pacheco; daughter-in-heart, Karen Heflin Turcotte; grandchildren, Juan Pacheco and wife, Valerie, James Pacheco, Taylor Kobs, Hayden Kobs, Perri Kobs, Bubba Sanders and Jessie Sanders; great-grandchildren, Miguel, Myah, Layla, and Halen; special nieces, Joyce Barnes and Mary Kratz and husband, Jerry; special lifetime friend, Linda Falk; close family friends, Doreen Ogburn, Brian Henley and Miguel Torres; dear kitty cat, Sweetie and puppy dogs, Heidi and Hammer; and many many other family and friends.
