Betty Cobb Crenshaw

Betty Cobb Crenshaw passed away at home on August 21, 2023, at 90 years of age, after a lengthy illness.

Betty was a resident of Bethany, Louisiana since the age of 16 years old.  She graduated from Greenwood High School, Greenwood, Louisiana, went to college at East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas., then attended Norton Business College located in Shreveport, Louisiana.  She started her banking career at First National Bank of Shreveport, continuing until retirement from Hibernia National Bank, where she served as an officer.

Her greatest joy was serving as a pastor’s wife to Bro. Carl C. Crenshaw Jr.  Betty enjoyed playing the piano and organ, teaching children’s choir at several churches, teaching Sunday school, and working with children.  She loved serving with her church family.

She is preceded in death by husband, Carl C. Crenshaw, Jr. of 70 years; father, Morrell Cobb; and mother, Mildred Farmer Cobb.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Cobb Yeager; two daughters, Carla Crenshaw Jessee (Kenny) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Lisa Crenshaw Richmond of Bethany, Louisiana; one son, Bill Edwin Crenshaw (Linda) of Denham Springs, Louisiana.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeff Ansley (Rachel), Jon Ansley (Britni), Josh Richmond (Haley), Jarred Jessee (Krystal), Ethan Jessee (Trinity), Chelsea Juneau (Casey), Tyler Crenshaw, Connor Crenshaw, Kimberly Richey (Drayden), sixteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty will be remembered by her many acts of kindness and selflessness towards others and her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. for visitation followed by the 11:00 a.m. service at Bethany Baptist Church, 10043 Hwy 79, Bethany, La. 71007. Officiating will be Pastor Marvin Cooper.

The family requests that any memorial donations be made in her name to Bethany Baptist Church.
