Berniece E. Nichols

Converse, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Berniece Elizabeth Nichols, will begin with the family receiving friends for visitation from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019 in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield Chapel. Mrs. Nichols' funeral will also be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Waylon Guant and Rev. Jimmy Price officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse, LA. Berniece was born February 1, 1919 in Mitchell, LA to Elmer Leroy Barrett and Ethel Elizabeth Gieger and entered into rest on April 6, 2019. Berniece was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard Samuel Nichols; her daughter, Kay Elizabeth Nichols Smith; and her infant son, Ronnie Samuel Nichols; and three brothers, Oliver Barrett, Wilson Barrett, and Leroy Barrett. Those left behind to cherish her memories are her sons, Carl Nichols and wife Fredericka of Cypress, Texas; and Loye Nichols of Converse, LA. She also leaves behind a daughter, Sue Hill and husband, Don of Converse, LA. In addition, she leaves behind a sister, Doris Marcantel of Converse, LA. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 16 great, great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Allen Nichols, Ron Nichols, Brian Nichols, Dean Nichols, Sammy Nichols, Harvey Nichols, Steve Smith, and Kenny Smith.
