BR lived most of his life in Converse, Louisiana where he grew up and spent many happy years, until they decided to move to Buna to be closer to their children.  During their years in Converse, BR and Ann were faithful members of Union Spring Baptist Church, where he served at one time as the song leader and was most often the first one at the church anytime the doors were open.   His main priorities were God, family and then recreation.  He loved his rabbit dogs, coon dogs and riding mules while coon hunting, he also had some fine deer dogs. No one loved listening to a good race more than he did.   He loved sitting on the porch talking with friends and he never met a stranger.  When you came to his home there was always plenty of good food to eat, and his feelings were hurt if someone didn’t join him.  He had a green thumb like no other when it come to raising a garden, and he loved to share with everyone.

BR was a welder, who worked out of Local Union 195 for over 60 years.  He retired in June of 1999, and then spent most of his time working at the church and raising a garden.
