Lloyd was born on February 9, 1958 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Benton and Mamie Gilcrease and passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Shreveport. Lloyd was a licensed offshore captain, a mechanic and even had his own used car lot. He was "one of a kind." He loved his family unconditionally. He would always help anyone that called no matter how bad he felt, because that's the kind of person he was. He never expected anything in return. In his earlier years, he would ride his motorcycle and share the road with his son. He loved to watch his daughter play softball and even coached one year. He shot pool in leagues for years till his health wouldn't let him. He loved to fish and go camping. He was known to some as "Gill," Hooper and Pops. No matter how bad he felt, his granddaughter, Caydence, would always brighten his day. We will miss his daily news reports as he was an avid FOX news watcher, but most of all, we will miss his smile and his company. Rest now Lloyd, there is no more pain.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Duane Gilcrease. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 years, Pam Gilcrease; son, Joshua Gilcrease; daughter, Sarah Gilcrease; granddaughter, Caydence; brothers, Jimmy, Stan, Eddie and wife, Brenda, Roy and wife, Debbie, Ray and wife, Betty; sister, Nova and husband, Brian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
