Funeral services honoring the life of Beatrice D. Tate will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Father Karl Daigle. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will take place immediately following the service in Greenwood Cemetery, 130 E. Stoner Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Beatrice D. Tate was born August 24, 1927 in Elton, Louisiana and passed away peacefully, Monday, November 28, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Beatrice grew up in Oberlin, Louisiana and was a long-time resident of Shreveport. She had a fiercely independent spirit throughout her life. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and treasure.  Her work ethic, compassion, and independence will be the legacy which lives on in those she loved so dearly. 

Beatrice is preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Ozay Tate; daughters, Barbara “Bobbi” Carver and Wanda Carter; son, Wayne L. Tate; grandchildren, George Joseph Carver and Mary Kathleen Carver; and parents, Dorceno Douga and Maria Lebleu Douga.  

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Rasmussen and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Tracy Carver and wife, Patty, Katrina (Carver) Kirlin, Todd Carver, Michael Tate, Michelle Tate and husband, Jason Bonazzi, Wayne Lobo Tate Jr., Mercedes Tate and husband, Kevin Flores, Shon Carter, and Rachael (Rasmussen) Willeford and husband, Mike; great-grandchildren, Josh Carver and wife, Susan, Jake Carver, Brandon Carver, Kimberly Kirlin , Kory Kirlin, Victoria Carver, Eric Carver, Alyssa Tate, Lucia Bonazzi, Molokai Flores, Tula Lina’la Flores, Joana Christine Kelley and husband, Richard Force, Ashley Kelley, and Gage Willeford; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Highland Place for their care and compassion.
