Barrett Anthony Boggs

On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, our Barrett "Baby Bear" Boggs closed his eyes here on this Earth and opened them to behold the face of our risen Lord. Though his time with us was brief and we so deeply grieve his passing, we rejoice that God in His great mercy allowed Barrett to know only the blessings of life here in this world. He knew nothing of pain and sorrow, only love. The love of parents who so fiercely adored their little buddy and celebrated and delighted in each little accomplishment, each little milestone. The love of a brother and sister who proudly showed off their "Baby Barrett," as though he were their personal baby to take care of. His brother and sister could make him giggle and laugh no matter how upset he was just by talking to him. The love of grandparents, who delighted in every coo, babble, and smile in the way that only grandparents can do. The love of great-grandparents who were once again blessed to see an ever-expanding tribe, a testament to God's great faithfulness to their family. The love of countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who celebrated the gift that Barrett was to the Boggs family, for he was such a great gift. The love of a Savior, who knew and loved Barrett more than any of us ever could, and mercifully called him home to spend eternity in His loving arms. At almost 5 months, Barrett was beginning to show his unique personality. He would poke out his little bottom lip, a telltale sign that he was not happy with something, and he was about to let you know it! The way he would look up at you with his big blue eyes and beautiful smile that brought out his dimples could brighten anyone's day. He was destined to be a talker, as he loved making those irresistible gurgle noises back and forth with his parents and grandparents. Nothing would make him smile and laugh more than the simple pleasure of splashing around in a bath. All of these memories we cherish and delight in as precious tokens of God's love for us. Barrett is preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Robertine Cobb and Betty Boggs and great-grandfathers, Ben Cobb and Levi Walker Boggs. He is survived by his parents, Walker and Natalie Boggs; brother, Harvey Boggs; sister, Scarlett Boggs; grandparents, Mark and Cheryl Connella, and Drexell and Caroline Boggs; and great-grandparents, Mary and Tommy Ray Connella and Beryl and Alice Young. A celebration of Barrett's life will be held at Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA on Friday, September 28, 2018. The family will receive visitors starting at 10:00 a.m. with a service following at 12:00 p.m. As this is truly a celebration, we would ask that you not wear black, but come in happy colors or just as you are.
