Barbara was born on November 10, 1936, to Roland Law Terrell and Margaret Terrell Heard in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Barbara lived a long, productive life and was loved by so many. She had two wonderful families, her beloved family and her devoted real estate family. Her family was the light of her life. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was deeply involved in their lives and extracurricular activities, always cheering them on with pride and joy.

Barbara graduated from Lake Charles High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she earned the distinction of Summa Cum Laude of her class. A gifted athlete, she won the State Championship in the girls’ tennis tournament during her senior year, a testament to her determination and competitive spirit.

Her career in real estate was nothing short of remarkable, spanning more than five decades. Barbara was first licensed in March 1970, and in 1972, she joined Oscar Cloyd, Inc., where she laid the foundation of her professional legacy. In the early 1990s, the company became The Prudential, and Barbara continued to be a trusted name in the business community. She later joined Century 21 United, where she remained for many years before moving to Diamond Realty in March 2016.

Throughout her career, Barbara was recognized for her dedication, professionalism, and leadership. She was named Realtor-Associate of the Year in 1989, served as NWLAR Board President in 1996, and most recently received the Louisiana Realtors Lawrence R. DeMarcay Distinguished Service Award in 2022, honoring her outstanding contributions to the industry and her fellow Realtors.

Barbara was a lover of all sports. She enjoyed playing golf and was an avid LSU fan, so passionate that she would often scream at the TV when her team made a bad play. Her enthusiasm, humor, and zest for life made her a joy to be around.

Barbara’s legacy is one of love, excellence, and spirited devotion. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Law Terrell and Margaret Terrell Heard; brothers, Ben Terrell and Frank Terrell; and her life-long friend, Nora Fancher.
