Barbara retired as a school bus driver for Bossier Parish Schools after 22 years of service. She was one of the founders of the Benton Band Boosters and helped kick off the first funnel cake fundraiser at the Red River Revel. In addition, Barbara was a girl scout leader. The Benton Riding club was also something that she was actively involved in when her daughters were younger, and she was the secretary for the Benton Riding Club during those years. Before moving to Benton, Barbara worked as an insurance underwriter, blazing the way for women in business.
She was a loving, kind, and giving person with a heart of gold. Primarily known as \"Mamaw,\" she always gave back to the Benton Community. She loved to read, color, fish, travel with her sister, and bake. She was famous for her peanut butter cookies with the girls' softball team. She spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by baking and cooking whatever they wanted. If mama said no, ask Mamaw.
She had extraordinary faith in God and was very involved with her church family. She was well known and adored and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

\"When I am gone, don\'t grieve for me, for I will be where we all long to be, in heaven with Jesus, finally with all who have gone on before me in a happy reunion with our loved ones. The Lord to look after me, oh what a glorious day it will be when we meet again.\"
