Barbara Ann McHalffey

Funeral services for Barbara Ann McHalffey, 87, will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Carlton Gilmer and Carolyn Mosley.

Barbara was born on August 29, 1936 to William Cloud DeYoung and Willie Lee Waldroup DeYoung in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Barbara graduated from Bossier High School in 1954. On June 7, 1957, Barbara exchanged vows with the love of her life, Billy Joe McHalffey. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever. Barbara embarked on a fulfilling career at The City of Bossier Water Department where she worked until retiring.

Barbara found joy in hobbies like working in her yard and planting flowers. Known for her vibrant personality, Barbara never met a stranger. Her genuine love for people radiated in all she did, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her. Her favorite seasons were Spring and Summer, periods that mirrored her own vibrant spirit and love for life.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Billy Joe McHalffey. She is survived by her son, Michael Ray McHalffey and his wife, Darlene; daughter, Susan McHalffey Jorden; grandchildren, Jason McHalffey, Taylor McHalffey, Johnnie Jorden, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Lenora Jorden and John Edward Jorden.

Honoring Barbara as pallbearers will be Jason McHalffey, Johnnie Jorden, Billy Don McHalffey, David McHalffey, Jim Gatlin, Jerry Mosley and Lance Mosley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Scott Kinsey, Mike Holcomb, Billy Montgomery and Taylor McHalffey.
