Aubra Tipton Bunn, Jr., 92, went to be with his beloved Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 29, 2018. A. T. was born on July 12, 1926 to Aubra and Cornelia Bunn in Shreveport, LA. He graduated from C.E. Byrd in 1943 and went to work at the main post office in downtown Shreveport on his last day of high school. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years before returning to work at the post office for 41 years before his retirement.
A.T. was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Flora Williams; and brother, Tommy Bunn. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 65 years, Vera Bunn; daughter Diane Bunn Kalstone and husband Chris; granddaughter, Amanda Nations Fulco and husband Darren; grandson Andrew Nations and wife Lindsay; and great-granddaughter, Makenzie Ellen Wilson.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 3 at 10 a.m. at Woodridge Baptist Church with the memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Cemetery in Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Dr. Chuck McInturf. Pallbearers will be John Garner, Roger Rossette, Rex Nivens, John Kish, Billy Ebarb and Bill Ricketts.
A.T. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and the Lord dearly. He was an active member and deacon at Woodridge Baptist Church. He loved to fish and play baseball. His joy in life was to fellowship with everyone and he always had pockets full of peppermints to pass out. His biggest joy in life was to serve the Lord and to serve others. His legacy will forever live on through his faithful testimony.
