Ashton loved gospel and blues and had a beautiful singing voice. He worked hard many years past retirement age and provided for his family all his life. He would tell you he was most proud of "my pretty red-headed wife and my three sons". He loved the worship music of Jimmy Swaggert and made sure to tell his grandchildren and great-grandchildren he was praying for us every night.
The grandchildren will remember the many family Christmases and summers grilling and swimming at their house on Japonica Lane.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Christus Hospice of Shreveport staff, especially Denise, Tabi, Shannon and Valerie for their excellent care and compassion.
