Arthur Roy Dorsey

A Funeral Mass for Arthur Roy Dorsey, of Marksville, will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Desimone officiation. A Rosary prayer service will be recited at 10:00am at the church prior to the Mass.

Arthur Roy Dorsey was born on June 4, 1945 to Jeffery Dorsey & Evelyn Lavalais Dorsey. He departed this life on April 25, 2026 at the age of 80.

Arthur was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He resided in Chicago, IL. for over 50 years, recently returning home to Marksville. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He was artistic, enjoyed fishing and cooking different meals, and liked helping others learn new things. He will be truly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Eric (Ziggy) Jacobs and Gregory (Claire) Dorsey of Marksville, LA.; brother, Charles Dorsey of Waldorf, MD; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other beloved relatives, along with many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeffery & Evelyn Dorsey; three sisters, Eva Jackson, Willie Sampson, and Janette Jacob; one brother, Joseph Dorsey, Sr.

A visitation will begin at 8:00am until 9:30am on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Marksville.
