Funeral services for Arnold Dewey Lee, 79, will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd. in Keithville. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Dr. B. J. Maddox.
Dewey was born on December 21, 1942 in Athens, Louisiana to Arnold Lavelle and Reba Faye Lee and passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 in Shreveport.
Dewey was a resident of Keithville and retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Senior Master Sergeant. He joined the US Coast Guard at the age of 17 before joining the US Air Force. He worked at Barksdale Air Force Base in Civil Service before retiring with 34 years of service. He enjoyed rebuilding and showing street rods and helping friends and family with construction projects. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Ellen Bierbaum. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Buster Lee and wife, Connie; daughter, Teresa Lee Courtney and husband, Jen; first wife and mother of his children, Ella Burt; grandchildren, Kelsey Lee Campbell, Mary Ellen Courtney, Jake Courtney, and Josh Courtney; brothers, Billy Lee and Phil Lee; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Honoring Dewey as pallbearers will be Tyler Campbell, Dr. Jenness Courtney, Jake Courtney, Josh Courtney, Ronnie Lee, Donnie Lee, Keith Lee, and Barry Barton.
The family would like to express special thanks to Sandy Wilcher for all the love, compassion and care she gave to Dewey. He nicknamed her "Cookie" because they clicked right from the beginning of her becoming his sitter.
