Ardis A. Powell III

Funeral services for Ardis A. Powell III will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Arcadia, Louisiana with Rev. Jim Crain and Rev. Bob Jameson officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Athens, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Ardis was born December 19, 1945, in Carruthersville, Missouri and entered into rest August 29, 2021, in Athens, Louisiana. He was employed with Ludlow Plastics as supervisor for 41 years. After retirement, he had many things he liked to do; cut hay, haul pulpwood, and farm. His life was about working, that was his hobby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardis A. Powell, Jr and Viola Powell. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Sue Powell; daughter, Sherri Lynn Powell; granddaughter, Victoria Sherice Williams; brothers, Henry L. Powell (Carla), Larry R. Powell (Terri), Rick G. Powell (Jerri), and Tony M. Powell (Celeste); and Sister, Dawn Amason (Jessie). Ardis is also survived by extended family, Roland, Paula, and Casey Liles, Ronnie, Cathie, Jon, and Lindsey Liles, Linda and Richard Gandy; special friends, Sno and Shelby Spurlock; brothers-in-law, Leroy Barnes (Vicki), Harold Ingram, Tillman Jones (Linda), and Robert Barnes (Carol); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family extends special thanks to PrimeStar Hospice, St. Joseph Hospice, and Jessica Krull. Memorials may be made to St. Jude or Pilots for Patients.
