A Funeral Mass for Anthony “Twine” Desselle will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville. A rosary prayer service will be recited at 10:30am prior to the funeral mass.
We gather to celebrate and remember the life of our beloved friend, Wilton Anthony “Twine” Desselle. Born to Paul Desselle, Sr. and Doris Patterson Desselle on January 1, 1947.
Anthony was a very loving and inspiring man who loved his family and his many friends. He was like a magnet, always drawing people close to him with his life experience, which he was always willing to share. Twine, as he was affectionately called by most, had a way with making a dish, which was nothing less than pleasing to your taste buds. With his loving personality, he seemed to attract the young and the old, always happy and jolly, and the swingout King. On August 24, 1968, he married Thelma Lee Dominick and from this union, two children were born: A daughter, Rhonda and a son, Nathaniel.
Anthony departed this life on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the age of 79.
He is now reunited with his parents, Paul Desselle, Sr. & Doris Patterson Desselle; son, Nathaniel Desselle; and his many friends he lost along the way.
Mourning his loss, yet cherishing his memory, are his wife, Thelma Desselle; daughter, Rhonda Davis (Ernest); four grandsons, Robert Kelly (Kestraunda), Travis Desselle, Kendal Kelly (Niya), and Dominique Desselle; daughter-in-law, Victoria-Kelly Desselle; two adorable great grandchildren, Alivia and Kamryn Kelly; two brothers, Paul Desselle, Jr. and John Desselle (Patricia); three sisters, Cecilia Warner, Doris Long (Larry) and Debra Worthy; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville (334 Acton Rd.) have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
