Annelle Pixley Campbell

Annelle Pixley Campbell, 80, of Benton, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Annelle was born on August 7, 1945, in Bernice to the late Dewey Simmons Pixley and Quida Copeland Pixley.

A 1963 graduate of Bernice High School, Annelle dedicated her life to raising her family and building a home in the state she loved. Her professional life was marked by a natural ability to succeed at whatever she put her mind to. After many years as a dental assistant in Bernice and Bossier, she later transitioned into retail and sales. Whether she was helping customers at Dillard’s or excelling as a top sales producer for Kilpatrick Life Insurance, Annelle’s charisma shone through. Her success in insurance earned her numerous awards and travel opportunities, perfectly fueling her love for meeting new people.

Affectionately known as "Nell," she was a true social butterfly who loved easily and always carried a smile—though she was never afraid to show her signature "sassy" side. She was a woman of remarkable style and class who loved to dress up, yet she remained a country girl at heart with a legendary green thumb. Her love for gardening and growing beautiful flowers in the yard brought her so much joy! Her gardens were filled with vivid colors and flourishing flowers.

Annelle’s adventurous spirit remained vibrant well into her seventies. Alongside her husband, Otis, she traveled frequently to experience the beauty of nature, with the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina holding a special place in her heart. She loved animals, especially cats, for many years, but then came her love of dogs, which gave her great fulfillment. She will be greatly missed by Smokey Joe, her little Pekingese, who lit up whenever he saw her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Otis Campbell, whom she adored with all her heart; her brother, Larry Pixley, and wife, Denise; her sister, Reba Collier and husband, Charles; and her two daughters, Janelle Morgan and Angela Tejada and husband, Lee. Her legacy lives on through her four beloved grandchildren, Austin Tejada, Jacob Tejada, Bailey Wooten, and Emily Guerrero; and five cherished great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Jaytee, Adora, Israel, and River.

She is also survived by stepdaughters, Melinda Koch (husband Richard), Donna Molineaux & Karen Miller (husband Joe), three step-grandchildren, Matt Koch, Jake Koch, and Erin Molineaux, and four step great-grandchildren, Joseph, Andrew, Caroline, and Sloane. She is also survived by her former husband, James R. Odom.

Annelle was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bobby Dewey "Sonny" Pixley. While she will be deeply missed, her family takes great comfort in knowing she is praising the King of Kings and reunited with her parents, grandmother, and brother.

A graveside service for family and friends to celebrate Annelle’s life will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Bernice, Louisiana. A private luncheon will follow for her family at Pisgah Baptist Church Gymnasium. In honor of Nell’s love for dressing up the family will be wearing their “Sunday best dress” and they would love for you to participate with them.
