Anne Elizabeth Baxter

"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father\'s house are many mansions. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. John 14: 1-4 Anne Elizabeth Loe Baxter, 93 years old, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2021. She was also lovingly called Sis, Ms. Anne, and Aunt Sissy. Anne was born in Bienville, LA on May 6, 1927 to Calvin Herbert Loe and Berkie Grigg Loe. Visitation will be held at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Arcadia, LA at 12:00 Saturday, May 1, 2021 until Celebration of Life service at 1:00 pm. No graveside service will be held at that time. After graduating from business school in Shreveport Anne returned to Bienville to work in the grocery trade. When not working she enjoyed cooking, especially for family and friends. When company came she could quickly pull a delicious meal together.Having fish fries was one of her favorite gatherings. Several years later Anne opened a small restaurant called AEB Diner. Her diner stayed packed! Customers always left the diner too full and very happy. Nieces and nephews enjoyed making their own soft serve ice cream cones. Anne was an active member of First Baptist Church Bienville. She brought candy to church with her for the children, and she enjoyed seeing smiles from children when they took it from her. She attended services regularly until she broke both hips at 90. In her last years Anne was blessed to have Esther Rutherford, Nancy Hay, Thelma Bob, and Betty Robinson as caregivers. She loved each of them. Then she moved to Baton Rouge to live with a niece and her husband. She fell in love with their grand babies and hated for them to end their visits. She enjoyed watching them play and always wanted to feed them her "special cookies". The babies often stopped to play with her and give her hugs. In Baton Rouge she again was blessed with a special caregiver, Jeralyn Ducote, whom she also loved. Thanks to each caregiver for their loving and devoted service. We thank everyone for their visits, phone calls, and prayers when she moved to Baton Rouge. These helped her transition and learn to love her new home. Anne is survived by a sister Linda Carol Loe Tompkins, an aunt Dorothy Loe; nephews Ronnie Loe (Kim), Reggie Loe (Jennifer), and Kathy Loe Elam (Kirk); numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; cousins Ann Thrash Moffett, Jeanette Stewart Henderson, Grigg Chandler, Tom Loe, Peggy Loe McCoy; and many special friends including Linda Loe and Francis Robinson. She is preceded in death by her spouse Grayson Baxter; mother Berkie Grigg Sanford, father Calvin Herbert Loe; sister Melva Sanford Youngblood and spouse Paul Youngblood; brothers with their spouses, Robert Calvin Loe and Margaret Loe, and Thomas Newton Loe and Kathryn Loe, and Carl Tompkins, spouse of sister Linda Carol Loe Tompkins; nephew Randy Loe and niece Debbie Loe Detty; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Aunt Sissy was a very loving and giving person. She loved to help others. Considering her generosity, please give a memorial to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
