Ann Walker Burckett Sanlicetinsavas

Ann Walker Burckett Sanlicetinsavas, 94, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on August 3, 2026. She was born November 16, 1931 in Shreveport to Milton Boarman and Mamie Walker Burckett.

Ann grew up in Shreveport where she was a 1950 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School. As a youngster, she loved singing, riding horses, the outdoors and her dog, Rusty. She was a 1954 graduate of Texas State College for Women majoring in music and voice. Later, while at LSU, she met her husband Turan on a blind date. They moved to Gramercy, Louisiana and later to Turan’s native country of Turkey. Upon returning to Louisiana they settled in Blanchard, Louisiana where Ann enjoyed her camellia and rose bushes and living in the woods. She also enjoyed singing in the Shreveport Symphony Chorale and her church choir. There were many weekends she hiked and camped out with the Ozarks Society. Ann worked with children at Trinity Heights Daycare and the preschool program at First Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Turan Sanlicetinsavas and sister, Marietta Burckett Yancey. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Anna Rogers and husband, Randy and Kemal Sanli and wife, Tessy; grandchildren, Richard Rogers, Ryan Rogers and Andrew Sanli; two great-grandchildren, due to arrive soon; sister, Bess Burckett Tabor.

Honoring Ann as pallbearers will be Kemal Sanli, Randy Rogers, Richard Rogers, Ryan Rogers and Sam Rogers.

We are deeply grateful to the staff for their compassionate care of our mother and especially to Patty Linder, our angel on Earth, who loved and cared for her dearly the last two months of her life.
