Ann was born on May 22, 1935 to Ernest J. Hughes and Ruthie C. Shelton Hughes in Ferriday, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Ann was a resident of Shreveport and retired from Chem-Air. Ann was a wife to Richard E. Hinds, Sr. for 44 years before he passed in 1998. She always said if she had not had children, she would have been the next Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline. She loved to sing! She was an avid reader and loved to cook. She loved her family and talking about her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had style, class and a lot of sass. She loved her Lord and Savior. She was loved by many and will be missed by many.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Hinds, Sr.; siblings, Ernestine Hinton, Howard (Bud) Hughes, Helen Jackson, Mary Bird, Oma Thornhill-Smith, Shirley (Chuck) Hughes, and Francis Sue Caldwell. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sherry E. Hinds, Richard (Bubba) Hinds, Jr. and wife, Marilyn, Robin Simmons and husband, Chief Master Sgt. Ken Simmons; granddaughters, Tiffany Lovell and husband, Jeff, Tamra Cossey and husband, Lance; great-grandchildren, Haley Martin, Addison Martin, Paityn Lovell, Abby Lovell, Blake Lovell, Scarlett Cossey and Arianna Cossey; brother, Robert (Bob) Hughes; sister, Betty Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Ann as pallbearers will be Mike Hughes, Rickee Hughes, Jack Richardson, Lance Cossey, Jeff Lovell and Don Young.
The family would like to express special thanks to Madison and Leslie of St. Joseph Hospice for all the wonderful care given to Ann in her last days.
