Friends and neighbors in Mt. Lebanon, LA were saddened to learn of the passing of Angela Kay Towns (63) on Friday, June 27, 2025. Angela had been very private about her living with cancer since 2021. Her choices enabled her to have quality-of-life time with her family and continue to contribute to her community.

Pastor Bruce Bratton of the Bryceland Baptist Church will conduct the celebration of life. Honoring Angela with special music will be long-time friend and neighbor, Steven Lyles.
Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery following the services.
Angela or Angel to her friends was born September 19, 1961 in Tallulah, LA. She and her twin brother, Johnny, were the oldest of 8 children. Another set of twin sisters followed making it a unique family. Her family moved to Gibsland and she attended Bienville Academy.
Angela began her career with the United States Postal Service in 1987 with a Walking Route in Homer, LA. and ended her career of 25 years in 2012 as Officer- In-Charge (OIC) at Castor, LA. Along the way, she served at Simsboro and Hodge Post Offices. After her retirement from the United States Postal Service, Angela was the bookkeeper for the family business, PT Services of Mt. Lebanon.
With her husband, Philip, she was an active member of the Mt. Lebanon Historical Society. Her legendary cakes raised many a dollar for charity auctions at the Gibsland Lions Club and the Mt. Lebanon Historical Society.
Angela was one of those rare individuals who still took the time to sit on her front porch and enjoy the tranquility of historic Mt. Lebanon. She was thoughtful to check on neighbors and keep in touch with their needs. She will be missed.
Angela is survived by her devoted husband, Philip L. Towns of Mt. Lebanon; sons, Bill Lance Odom of Lake Claiborne, LA and Brian Keith Odom of Sarepta, LA; her mother, Jimmie Sue Thornton of Mena, AR; brothers, Johnny Skipper (Brenda) of Sallisaw, OK, John Abb Skipper (Carla) of Mena, AR and Matt Skipper; and sisters, Sandra Skipper of Oregon, Paula Peterson of Arizona, and Rebecca S. (Kyle) Montgomery of Mena, AR. Her grandchildren, Remi, Blakelyn and Briscoe were very dear to her. Angela had a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona and Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Abby Skipper and recently by her sister, Susan Skipper.
Pallbearers will be Paul Skipper, Mark Skipper, David Dupree, Joey Dupree, Steve Towns and Kyle Towns.
