Angela Mae (Addison) Welch, 57, a native of Shreveport, passed away on March 1, 2022, as the result of an accident. A memorial visitation for Angela will be held at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana. A graveside service will immediately follow the memorial visitation at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, in Shreveport. Officiating will be Angela's beloved pastor, Rev. Carl Franklin of Fountain of Life Kingdom Church.
Angela was born on January 18, 1965, to parents Linda Rogers and Ray Addison. She grew up in the Cedar Grove community and attended local schools including Atkins Elementary and Woodlawn High School. Angela always loved music and singing, but throughout her life she especially found her spiritual and inner strength through her love of gospel music. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a strong, hardworking woman who strived diligently to provide for her family's needs. Angela was compassionate and giving and never met a stranger. She was an employee of the City of Shreveport - her coworkers described her as a "Motherly figure, a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen and a best friend to so many."
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Rogers; and her grandma and papaw, Gladys and Daniel M. Upshur, who lovingly raised her.
Angela is survived by the family she deeply loved and cherished; her sons, John Wesley Springer and Joshua Aaron Sanders; sister, Kim Duncan and husband Mark; grandson, John-Gavyn Wesley Springer; nephew, John Gavin Duncan and niece, Katie Duncan D'Errico; and a host of cousins, church families and friends that loved her dearly. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her, but we are also comforted in the fact that she has found her eternal peace.
