ANDREW JACK "AJ" STAMOS
SHREVEPORT, LA - Private graveside services will be held for Andrew Jack "AJ" Stamos, 87, on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Andrew Comeaux officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
Andrew was born on November 20, 1928 in Shreveport to Jack and Kitty Corinne Dodd Stamos and went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 30, 2016. He was a graduate of Fair Park High School and attended Texas A&M. Andrew joined the US Navy and proudly served his country. Shortly after his military service he met and married the love of his life, Peggy Lou Cecil. They spent 60 wonderful years together before Peggy passed away. Andrew was a man of many talents and they stretched from KCS Railroad to Fil-A-Bil, Southern Hills Grocery & Hardware, Peggy Lou's Gifts & Interior Design, MacMos Investments, General Contractor and many more. Andrew was a devoted member of Summer Grove Baptist Church. He touched many lives through the years and he will never be forgotten.
Preceding Andrew in death were his parents, Jack and Kitty Stamos and his wife Peggy Lou Cecil Stamos. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Betty Sue Stamos Clark and his lovely granddaughter, Mary Katherine Clark, along with extended family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Marvin Crain, Glenn Price, Beryl Young, Marvin Young, Huey Brown and Dr. Russell McInnis.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James Jackson, Erin Dicharry, PA, Dr. Tommy Mook, Nursing Staff at the North Pavilion at Live Oak, ER Staff at Willis-Knighton North and the Nursing Staff in the Step-Down Unit for all the care, support and love they gave to Andrew.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Louisiana Dog Rescue, 149 Carroll St., Shreveport, LA 71105.
