Amos Paul Lacombe

Amos Paul Lacombe, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Belledeau on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral home on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 and will last until 10:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors will reopen Wednesday July 16, 2025 for 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

A funeral mass will he held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Hessmer with Father Ken Obiekwe officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Eunice Lacombe; his brothers, Vincent Joseph Lacombe and Arnie Lacombe; his sister, Euther Jeansonne; his son, Paul Vincent Lacombe; and his grandson, Joshua Lacombe.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Genevieve Lacombe; his son, Jonathon Lacombe of Belledeau; his daughter, Faith (Jimmy) Gagnard of Fifth Ward; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Matthew Lacombe, Logan Gash, Jake Hayes, Eddie Jeansonne, Derek Snyder, and David Ponthieux. Honorary pallbearers include: CJ Hayes, Austin Lacombe, Liam Gash, and Cayden Brazzel.

Mr. Lacombe dedicated 38 years of service to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, earning several honors throughout his career, including the prestigious Charles E. Dunbar Career Service Award.

Amos was a devout member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, where he actively served in many capacities. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council #9217, where he served as Grand Knight and was a Fourth Degree Knight. He was also deeply involved with Boy Scouts Troop 3 in Belledeau and contributed to numerous other church organizations and community efforts.

Above all, Amos was a devoted family man with a generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He found great joy in gardening and was known for sharing the fruits of his labor with friends, neighbors, and the community.
