A memorial service for Alyne Shaw Watson, 86, will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor John Harp.
Alyne was born on June 2, 1939, to Hershel and Lucille Shaw in Winnfield, Louisiana, and passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Alyne was a proud graduate of C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, and she later continued her education with some college coursework. She married Ronald Patrick Watson, and together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and devotion. They were blessed with one son who brought them great joy. Alyne had a true gift for music and loved singing in the choir, where her voice and her spirit lifted the people around her. She was also an exceptional artist, especially known for her watercolor paintings, which showed her gentle eye for beauty and detail.
Alyne was a woman of deep faith and genuine kindness. She prayed for everyone she knew and carried a heart full of compassion. She found joy in the simple things—flowers, birds, and especially the delicate grace of hummingbirds. More than anything, she loved her husband and her family, and she poured her whole heart into them. To know Alyne was to know warmth, gentleness, and a spirit that made the world feel softer and kinder.
Alyne was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Lucille Shaw; her beloved husband, Ronald Patrick Watson; her daughter, Teresa Raley; and her brother, Robert Shaw.
Left to cherish her memory are her son‑in‑law, Earl Raley, Jr.; her grandson, Zach Raley, and his wife, Lauren; her cherished great‑grandchildren, Jackson, Ella, and Collin Raley; her sister, Barbara Clark, and husband, Jerry; her sister‑in‑law, Martha Shaw; along with a host of beloved extended family members and friends.
The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
