A memorial service for Althea Ellen Collier, 95, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Garth Collier. 

Althea was born on December 2, 1928 in Oakhill, Kansas to John Roscoe “Ross” Hauck and Effie May Frazier Hauck and passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana after a long illness. She was a 55 year resident of Shreveport and the “last one” of nine siblings. 

Althea completed two years of college, was a United States Air Force officer’s wife, loved sewing, working with ceramics and playing Bridge and board games. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. 

Althea is preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen Andrew Collier; husband, Maj. Rodney P. Collier, Ret. USAF and siblings, Baby Hauck (1915), Victor Dale Hauck (1958), Lowell William Hauck (1982), Loris B. Hauck (1990), Loren D. Hauck (1994), Laverene Roscoe Hauck (2009), Leota Ethel Hauck Singer (2017) and Anna Floriene Hauck Sheridan Odell (2019). 

Althea is survived by three of four of her children, Rodney Michael Collier and wife, Sarah of Benton, Louisiana, Kathryn Ann Collier McGuire and husband, Patrick of Galveston, Texas and Julie Ellen Collier Kueker and husband, Ronald of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Tanya Evans Collier of Shreveport, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Steven Michael Collier, Stacy Ellen Gonzales, Jackson Michael Collier, Charity Lynn Charest, Bridget Ann Sexton, Sarah Ellen Ardis and David Allen Kueker; 16 great-grandchildren, Brianne, Jordan, Natalie, Michael, Susannah, Kade, Koy, Kai, Brandon, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Alexander, Sophie, Emma, Michael and Charlotte and one great-great-grandchild, Elleanor.
