Alma Marie Welborn

Alma “Marie” Welborn, born on February 1, 1946, to her parents, Letha Huffman Bedsole and Henry Curtis Bedsole, peacefully entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with her health.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Roy Clyde Welborn. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, family, and a shared passion for racing. She especially cherished the time spent watching dirt track racing alongside Roy, moments that brought her so much joy.

Marie was one of eight children, growing up with six brothers and one sister, with whom she shared a lifetime of treasured memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Letha Huffman Bedsole and Henry Curtis Bedsole, and her brothers, Henry Bedsole, Jerry Bedsole, Kenneth Bedsole, and Frank Bedsole.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Roy Welborn; her two sons, Steve Welborn and Jeff Welborn (and his wife, Ashley); her grandchildren, Robert Welborn, Libby Welborn, Tyler Welborn, and Michael Lasuzzo Jr. (and his wife, Liz); and her great-grandchildren, Addisyn Welborn, Zoey Lasuzzo, and Michael Lasuzzo III.

She is also survived by her loving sister, Martha Floyd (and her husband, Jack); her brothers, John Bedsole and Blanchard Bedsole (and his wife, Debbie); her sister-in-law, Martha Bedsole; and many nieces and nephews she deeply loved and adored.

Marie spent many years working at K&B Drugs, where she touched countless lives with her kindness, gentle spirit, and warm smile. She found great joy in cooking and caring for her family, always putting others before herself. Her home was a place of comfort, love, and laughter, a true reflection of who she was.

She was everything to her family, a steady source of love, strength, and grace. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply missed beyond words.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Robert Welborn, Tyler Welborn; Dewayne Sandifer, Sr., Dewayne Sandifer, Jr., Jamie Touchet, and Jason Mackey.
