Allard Wilson, 72, passed away following a brief illness on the evening of Thursday, October 9, 2025. He was born in Urania, Louisiana on April 2, 1953, the youngest child of Grace Callender Wilson and Thomas J. Wilson.
Allard was introduced to the love of his life, Francis Wooley Wilson, by his eldest sister Pat. He and Fran married on April 12, 1997. They spent the majority of their 28 years together in Logansport, La. Allard worked in the wood products industry traveling to Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and ultimately Georgia Pacific’s plywood plant in Carthage, Texas where he retired.
He was a man of quiet strength one that did not need a lot of words. There will never be another man like him. Al who went by Daddy or big ace, Paw or Pawpaw, will be remembered as a good Daddy, who was steady, dependable, great provider, a protector and always there when you needed him. He had a great sense of humor and sure did love a good laugh, especially when he could get everybody else going too. You always knew where you stood with him because he was honest, even when you did not want to hear it there was no sugarcoating, but you always knew it came from the heart. He was strong, funny and real; the kind of man you just do not see much anymore. We will miss his laugh, his stories and the quiet way he made everything feel alright just by him being there. Allard was the apple of his mother’s and sisters’ eye being the only boy in his family. Allard had a keen competitive streak which ran in his family who loved to play a game of Rook with him.
Allard and his siblings were raised in very close family setting that resulted in them raising their children in the same manner. This type of family relationship has carried on to future generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Grace Wilson, sisters and brothers-in-law: Patsy Jean and Arthur Otto Roath; Tommie Ciena and Ronald Michael Brazzell, Sr.; and Sarah Dale and George Nation.
Allard is survived by five children: Bryan Allard Wilson (Faith) of Calvary, Georgia; Melissa Carol Wilson of Dodson, Louisiana; Wendy Nicole Wilson Ingles (Curt) of Sikes, Louisiana; Larry “Bo” Calhoun, Jr. (Stacy) of Converse, Louisiana; and, Jonathan Lucas Calhoun (Tonya) of Logansport, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren: Ashleigh Kittrell (Caleb); Rylee Ingles; Laniey Ingles; Faithlynn Ingles; David Tinnell (Emily); Hunter Tinnell (Harley); Cody Henderson; Blaine Calhoun; Ben Calhoun; Macy Calhoun; and, Dustin Burns (Trailbe); five great grandchildren: Maggie Tinnell, Mason Tinnell, Presley Calhoun, Berklee Calhoun and Whitley Calhoun; nieces and nephews: Ronald Arthur Roath (Cindy), Donald Wayne Roath (Melanie), Lora Jean Evans (John), Ciena Lynn Thompson (Greg), Ronald Michael Brazzell, Jr. (Kelli), Sheryl Ann McDaniel (Kevin), Sarah Lynell Cook and Toni Nation; along with his great nieces and nephews.
