Albert Joseph Lanius, 70, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Plain Dealing Cemetery, LA 157, Plain Dealing, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Pastor Adam Miller will officiate the service.
Al was born on April 14, 1951 in Alexandria, Louisiana to James and Lelia Didier Lanius. He had a love for anything LSU and was great at working with his hands. His greatest enjoyment in life was his family, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Al is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Matt Lanius. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kelley Hardcastle and husband, Bret and Lindsey Lanius; son, Patrick Lanius and wife, Bridgitt; life partner, Catherine Bush; children, Vanessa Wilcox, Alexander Bush and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Landri Hardcastle, Peyton Hardcastle, Kaseden Brown, Madyson Maggio, Emma Maggio, Axton Lanius, Hadleigh Fulghum, Addyson Wilcox, Amber Wilcox, Lakin Bush, and Nolan Bush; the mother of his children, Rhonda Tyl; siblings, Joan Lanius, Anne Edgerton and husband Giff, Donna Trainum and husband, Mike, Eddie Lanius and wife, Pam and Malcolm Lanius and very special longtime friends Dave Navalance and wife, Kim and their children, Morgan and Jack.
Honoring Albert as pallbearers will be Peyton Hardcastle, Kaseden Brown, Axton Lanius, Jeff Wysocki, Jack Navalance, Alexander Bush, Amy French, Suzy Armstrong, Danny Rachal and Mickey Rachal. Honorary pallbearers will be Bret Hardcastle and Dennis Hays.
