Marksville - Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes Dupas Batiste, age 95, of Marksville, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville, Louisiana, with a visitation at Kilpatrick\'s Rose-Neath Funeral home in Marksville, Louisiana beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed by a rosary at 10:00 a.m.
Agnes passed away on September 6, 2021 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. Burial will be held at Holy Ghost Church Cemetery in Marksville, Louisiana, followed by a repast at Holy Ghost Church Gym. Arrangements are under the direction of Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville, Louisiana.
Agnes was born in Mansura, La. on July 1, 1926 to Leonie and Lonis Dupas. She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a member of the Christian Mothers for over 50 years. She was a devoted Catholic. She helped the priests for many years to prepare the altar for Mass Services. She was known to pray not only for her family, but also many families were very grateful that her prayers were extended to them.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Batiste, Sr.; her son, Jerome Donald Batiste, Sr. and parents Leonie and Lonis Dupas, two sisters Benita Prier and Edna Morris; four brothers Eugene Dupas, Newman Dupas, Joseph Dupas, Sr. and Phillip Dupas.
She is survived by one son, Albert Batiste, Jr. (Rose) of Marksville, La; five daughters, Audrey B. Day of Alexandria, La. Geneva B. Lavalais (Russell) of Houston, TX, Bernadine B. Castleberry (Louis) of Houston, TX., Elizabeth B. Leviege (Albert) of Marksville, La., and Patricia B. Alexander (Michael) of Alexandria, La; sister, Josephine Dupas Jones of Dallas, Texas; Fifteen grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
